Being one of the biggest essential oil producers in Bulgaria, Triglav-Edelvais continuously works on improving and expanding its sustainability efforts.

SMETA is Sedex’s social auditing methodology, enabling businesses to assess their sites and suppliers to understand working conditions in their supply chain.

The International Federation of Essential Oils and Aroma Trades – is a trade association founded in 1977. It represents the interests of companies involved in the production, processing, trading and manufacturing of the many thousands of ingredients used in flavors, fragrances and aromatherapy.

IFEAT’s principal aim is to advance and protect the members’ interests in all parts of the world through various activities. These include international collaboration between members and other national and international organizations, funding research and education programs, the encouragement of good practices, the dissemination of information and the provision of forums for discussion.

The European Federation of Essential Oils aims to represent, protect and promote the interest of production and trade of essential oils and related products within Europe, and to lobby for the defense of these products at relevant national, European and international institutions.

Kosher Certification is the stamp of kosher approval by a rabbinic Agency verifying they have checked the products ingredients, production facility and actual production to ensure all ingredients, derivatives, tools and machinery have no trace of non kosher substances.

It is the document issued by the Muslim authority of the exporting country in which it is certified that a certain agri-food or pharmaceutical product fulfills the requirements demanded by the Islamic Law for its consumption by the Muslim population.

The Halal Institute is one of the bodies that manage the Halal certification, and to obtain such certification it is necessary to meet the following requirements:

  • Not to include or contain in its composition anything that is considered unlawful under Islamic law.

  • Food must be prepared, processed, transported or stored using appliances or media that are exempt from what is unlawful under Islamic law.

  • Not having been in direct contact with other foods that do not meet the above requirements.

  • transparent labelling for consumers
